Inspired by the teachings of the founder director of Jnana Prabodhini, Late Shri V V alias Appasaheb Pendse, a group of doctors, alumni of Jnana Prabodhini Prashala, came together.
In 1993, under the leadership of Dr. Dhananjay Kelkar (Oncosurgeon), they established ‘Jnana Prabodhini Medical Trust’ (JPMT).
The core values of JPMT are based on the principles of ethical & rational practice in the medical profession.
The trust started running a 150 bed Sanjeevan Hospital at Pune. It also started a dedicated eye hospital at Shirwal, district Satara. The trust was also engaged in the management of 100 bed hospital at Dabhol, district Ratnagiri
In 1999, the trust joined the hands with Lata Mangeshkar Medical Foundation to build, run, manage Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Pune. Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital has created new benchmarks of rational and ethical medical practice.
